Locating at No. 12, Yongwai Avenue, Fengtai District, Beijing South Railway Station, or BeijingNan Station started business operation on August 1st, 2008. It's the original station of Beijing Tianjin Intercity Railway as well as Jinghu (Beijing-Shanghai) High Speed Railway.

The station building of Beijing South Railway Station is divided into 4 functional floors: the second floor is designed for waiting area; the ground floor is platform area (for train arrival and departure), and the underground floor is exit and transfer area. (As shown in Figure 1-1)
Passengers arriving on the ground floor by bus may enter the station building from either the north entrance or the south entrance. Those who have tickets in hands may go directly to the waiting areas by taking an escalator to the second floor (as shown in Figure 1-2); those without admission tickets must firstly take an escalator downstairs to the underground floor to purchase or collect tickets from No.5 and No.6 Ticket Offices (as shown in Figure 1-3).
Those who get here by subway line 4 with admission tickets can go to the station's waiting area on the second floor by taking escalators which are located close to the north entrance and the south entrance; those without tickets please firstly purchase or collect tickets from No.5 and No.6 Ticket Offices nearby on the underground floor.(As shown in Figure 1-4).
Passengers with tickets coming here by taxi can enter the waiting area from both the east entrance and the west entrance; those without paper tickets can purchase or collect tickets from any one of the 4 Ticket Offices on the second floor as shown in Figure 1-5.
To drive to the east parking lot, drivers are suggested to ride southward from Kaiyangqiao Bridge on the south 2nd ring road and then turn left at the first traffic light. Once arriving Xingfu Road of the south railway station, drivers can turn right at the second traffic light and follow the guide sign to ride to the east parking lot. Meanwhile, if you want to drive to the west parking lot, you are suggested to ride southward from Kaiyangqiao Bridge on the south 2nd ring road and turn left at the 2nd traffic light and follow the guide sign to enter the west parking lot of Beijing South Railway Station.
Passengers may first park their cars on either the East Parking Lot or the West Parking Lot. Those who have tickets in hand may get to the waiting area by taking escalators that are close to the south entrance and the north entrance to the 2nd floor to wait the train; those without paper tickets please firstly purchase or collect tickets from either the No.5 or No.6 Ticket Office on the underground floor. (Passengers should drive into the East Parking Lot according to the instruction of the Figure 1-6 or drive into the West Parking Lot according to the instruction of the Figure 1-7, or follow instructions of the Figure 1-8 and Figure 1-9 on how to get to the underground transferring hall from the parking lot.)
Friendly Reminder: those to pick up or see off people should park their cars at the West Parking Lot or East Parking Lot on the underground floor; Please do not park your cars at the East Terrace or West Terrace on the second floor long time, instead, you should drive away immediately after dropping off the passengers here.
Airport bus stops near the North Entrance of the station building. Passengers who have tickets in hands may get to the waiting area by taking the escalators to the second floor; Those without paper tickets please first take escalator downstairs to underground floor to purchase or collect tickets from No.5 or No.6 Ticket Office as shown in Figure 1-10.
There are altogether 4 ticket offices including No.1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 Ticket offices in the waiting area on the second floor providing ticket booking, collection, changing and cancellation services for passengers entering from both the east entrance and the west entrance As shown in Figure 2-1 and 2-2.
Friendly Reminder:
1) No.3 Ticket office, with a shift manager window, is the biggest one providing various services including booking of tickets, changing of tickets, cancellation and refunding of tickets, issuing of China Railway Banking Expresspay Card (like public transportation card), collecting of tickets booked online and etc.
2) The real-name ticketing system has been put into practice completely in China since January 1, 2012. International travelers are requied to submit their passports to buy tickets or collect tickets booked online.
3) Valid identity certificates include the following 24 types -- Resident ID card, temporary Resident ID card, Residence Booklet, Travel Document of PRC, Security Card of PLA (China's People's Liberation Army), Military Officer's Certificate, Armed Police ID, Soldiers Card, Military Student Card, Civilian Cadres Card of Military, Retired Cadres Card of Military, Passport, Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents, Pass to and from Hong Kong and Macao for Mainland China, Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan residents , Pass to and from Taiwan for Mainland China, Alien's Resident Certificate, Exit and Entry Permits of Alien, Diplomats Card, Consulates Card, Seamen's Books, foreigners' identity documents Issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, police report for lost passport issued by the Division of Entry and Exit Administration of local public security administration, passengers' temporary identity documents issued by Railway Public Security Department(Temporary ID card for short). Besides, Student's Identity Card is also included in the valid identity certificates of juveniles (under 16 years and more than 1.5-meter-tall).
There are two Ticket Offices including No.5 and No.6 Ticket Office on the underground transfer floor. The former located in the southwest offers self-service and the latter located in the northwest provides manual ticket booking service as shown in Figures 2-3 and 2-4.
No. 41 Shift Manager Window: providing ticket changes as well as handling customer's complaints. English speakers can also go here to purchase your tickets. It is located in No. 3 ticket office on the 2nd floor.

There are altogether 76 Ticket Vending Machines and 8 Self-Service Tickets Machines in the station building.These machines can't read English names and passport numbers, so please don't try to purchase or collect tickets from them if you are foreigners. In another word, these tickets machines works to citizens of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan only.

A total number of 25 ATMs are placed inside each Ticket Office and on both sides of the Ticket Vending Machines. (As shown in Figure 2-19)
The second floor is divided into three areas longitudinally: Central Waiting Area is surrounded by ticket checks in all directions; to the east and west of ticket checks are Ticket Offices, commercial service areas and rest areas for passengers with business-class tickets. The Central Waiting Area is subdivided into 3 parts from north to south: Normal Speed Train Waiting Area, Jinghu(Beijing-Shanghai) High Speed Train Waiting Area and Beijing-Tianjin Inter-city Train Waiting Area. Passengers should choose waiting area according to the their travel routes.
It is located between the No.6 and No.17 Ticket Checks. Passengers for the following places please wait in this area: Shanghai Hongqiao, Nanjing South, Hangzhou, Hefei, Xuzhou East, Jinan West and Qingdao. Passengers are suggested to wait near the ticket checks corresponding to their trains since the waiting area is quite large. (Pay attention to the information on your ticket)
It is located between the No.18 and No.23 Ticket Checks. Passengers taking Beijing-Tianjin Inter-city train please wait here.
Kindly Reminder:
1. Please take good care of your belongings while waiting your train in case of losing or taking items of other people by mistake.
2. Please take good care of your children - Keep them from chasing inside the waiting area to avoid getting hurt.
3. Do not smoke in public.
4. Please do not take off your shoes or lie down on the seats to avoid disturbing others.
5. When you are in trouble, please dial the service telephone 010-51867182 or 010- 51867688 or turn to the station's staff member for help instead of asking help from other travelers to avoid being cheated.
It is a special rest area, near the No.14 and No.15 Ticket Checks, serving the aged the weak the sick the disabled and pregnant women. It can accommodate 60 people at the same time. The whole "Zhang Runqiu Service Team" serves passengers in desperate need of help wholeheartedly. They provide volunteer services such as guiding people to check in, taking good care of wheelchair users and giving first aid treatment. They are equipped with daily essentials such as free disposable cups, sewing kit, tools box, wheelchairs, children's toys, books and magazines. Passenger can make an appointment through the phone or the internet with the staff in the Volunteer Service Area, and then ,as needed, they will provide services such as picking-up with free wheelchairs, ordering ambulance and etc. (as shown in Figure 3-4,3-5). There are altogether 4 information desks on the second floor - locating near the East Entrance, West Entrance, No.6 Ticket Check and No.17 Ticket Check respectively. (As shown in Figure 3-6). Among them, the one near the West Entrance has Shift Manager' Desk; the one near the No.17 Ticket Check is "Zhang Runqiu Information Desk" named after Zhang Runqiu who is one of National Model Workers.
It provides passengers with services such as inquiring railway timetable, explaining the functional area of the station building, people searching and etc. Shift Manager Desk also provides special services such as answering passengers' call, complaint reception and handling, Lost and Found management, helping the needy passengers solve their problems. It also takes charge of keeping in touch with other stations, aiming to solve practical difficulties for passengers. Phone Number of Shift Manager Desk is 010-51867182.
Named after Zhang Runqiu who is one of National Model Workers, it is mainly in charge of serving passengers in desperate need of help. They are equipped with daily essentials such as medicine chest, sewing kit, traffic map, tools box, wheelchairs, etc. Besides providing relevant information through the phone, it also accepts appointments through the phone or the internet and provides passengers in desperate need of help with picking-up services. The station building is equipped with 11 LED display screens which scroll the information in Chinese and English continuously such as train number, timetable, ticket checking window, boarding platform, and train operational status.
There are two 5100 Brand Spring Water for picking up on the second floor: one is on the east of No.6 Ticket Check (beside the newsstand) and the other is on the west of No.17 Ticket Check behind Zhang Runqiu Information Desk. Passengers cab get bottles of 5100 brand Spring Water with intraday tickets free of charge - one ticket wins one bottle of water.
"My phone is out of power, what should I do? Turn to Emergency Mobile Phone Charging Station!"
Eight Emergency Mobile Phone Charging Stations are set up on both sides of the East and West Entrances on the second floor.
Left-luggage Facilities are located on the east and west sides of the North Security Check on the second waiting floor. There are storage cabinets in large size and medium-size for passengers to choose according to their luggage.
Storage Rates:
CNY 10 Yuan for using medium-sized cabinet or CNY 15 Yuan for using large cabinet for less than 7 hours.
CNY 15 Yuan for using medium-sized cabinet or CNY 25 Yuan for using large cabinet for less than 12 hours.
CNY 25 Yuan for using medium-sized cabinet or CNY 40 Yuan for using large cabinet for less than 24 hours.
For every 0-12 period after the first 24 hours, CNY 10 Yuan is charged for using middle-sized cabinet or CNY 15 Yuan is charged for using big cabinet.
It opens from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm Monday to Sunday.
There are altogether 8 toilet rooms that are close to Ticket Offices on the east and west sides of the second floor.

Kindly Reminder: Caution Boiling Water! Please do not have children to fetch hot water by themselves for security.
Beside the No.1 and No.3 Ticket Offices there are 2 Business-Class Waiting Rooms providing high-quality services for passengers with business-class tickets using Beijing-Shanghai high-speed trains.
Commercial service facilities such as supermarkets, fast food restaurants and bookstores are available both on the second floor (waiting area) and the underground floor (transfer area), providing passengers with various needs of food, clothing, accommodation, and transportation.
Locating in the northwest of the second floor, it provides checking luggage service including Next Day Delivery or Third Day Delivery -- from Beijing South Station to such cities as Shanghai, Nanjing, Jinan, Qingdao and etc and the service hotline is 95572.
There are altogether 2 newsstands that are located to the east side of No.6 ticket checks as well as to the east side of No.18 Ticket Checks on the second floor selling various intra day's newspapers, the latest magazines and books.
There are altogether 23 ticket checks on the second floor. Among them, No.1 to No. 5 Ticket Checks are designed for normal speed trains; No.6 to No. 17 Ticket Checks are for Jinghu (Beijing-Shanghai) High-Speed trains, and No.18 to No. 23 Ticket Checks are for Beijing-Tianjin Inter-city High-speed Trains. Ticket checks are located symmetrically both in east and west side of the Central Waiting Areas. (As shown in Figure 4-1) For example: No.7 Ticket Checks consist of the east check and the west check. Both are available for checking for the same train and accessiable to the same platform.

Step 2: Get your ticket and Passport ready
The real-name ticketing system has been put into practice completely here since June 1, 2012. Passengers must have their tickets and corresponding certificates checked while getting through the ticket check. It is recommended that passengers should have their tickets and valid identity certificates ready while waiting or lining up so as to improve efficiency as well as to avoid any delay.
Kindly Reminder:
In the event of losing or forgetting to bring ID certificates, passengers must lose no time in getting to the No.43 Window - the Accreditation center - in the No.4 Ticket Office and applying for a temporary identification document.
Step 3: Lining up for checking in
Generally speaking, it begins to check tickets 15 minutes before the leaving of Beijing-Tianjin Inter-city High-speed Trains, 30 minutes before the leaving of Beijing - Shanghai High-Speed trains and passengers are advised to line up in front of the ticket check ahead of time.

Reminder 1: escalators and Accessible elevators are available on the east side of the ticket checks and escalators and stairs are available on the west side of the ticket checks. The aged the weak the sick the disabled and pregnant women as well as passengers with large baggage are suggested to use the accessible elevators on the east side. (As shown in Figure 4-3)
Reminder 2. In general, after the train pulling in, the big-numbering carriage (for example, No. 10 carriage) of Beijing - Shanghai high-speed train is stopped near the East Side Ticket Check whereas the small-numbering carriage (for example, No. 1 carriage) is stopped close to the West Side Ticket Check. And the big-numbering carriage of Beijing-Tianjin Inter-city High-speed Trains is near the West Side Ticket Check whereas the small-numbering carriage is near the East Side Ticket Check. (Please refer to the electronic information screen over the ticket check, as shown in Figure 4-4).
The Special Caring Passengers channels are set up beside each ticket check; and the aged the weak the sick the disabled and pregnant women have the priority to check in through these channels.
In accordance with regulations, the Real-name Authentication System has been implemented here while checking in so as to insure that passenger, ID card (Passport or Visa for foreigners) and ticket match with each other exactly.
Reminder 1. Children under 120 cm in height enjoy free ride and children between 120 cm and 150 cm in height with half tickets need not to be checked.
Reminder 2. As students, disabled soldiers, the wound and disability police enjoy preferential price, they should show relevant original documents to prove themselves besides ticket and ID card while checking in. Please note, this applies to Chinese citizens only.
Reminder 3. Chinese passengers, booked tickets online and have no need to apply for reimbursement, can get through the ticket barrier with their second-generation ID cards and board the train.
Reminder 4. Passengers swiping through by their China Railway Banking Expresspay Cards should make an application to print their tickets at the designated ticket window (the No.32 and No.33 Windows) within 31 days, if they want to have their tickets reimbursed. It is not allowed to print ticket more than once for each trip.
Generally speaking, for the sake of safety, ticket examiner would stop checking tickets 5 minutes before the train starts as shown in figure 4-8.
Passengers who failed to catch their train could apply for ticket changing at the corresponding window.
Step 7: Getting to platforms and boarding the trainsReminder 1. Please stand stably and hold your suitcase tightly while taking the escalator to avoid any accidents.
Reminder 2. Please walk or stand behind the white safety line while waiting for the train in order to avoid any dangers as shown in Figure 4-9.
Reminder 3. If you choose to take multi-locomotive multiple unit trains, please follow the guidance of staff member, since the train is connected by two multiple unit trains and the passage between No.8 and No.9 carriage could not get through. (As shown in Figure 4-10) Please keep away from the junction of the two multiple unit trains, not to mention leaving children playing there, as the gap between the platform and carriage there is larger than anywhere else.
Reminder 4: please watch your step while getting on/off the train, and take good care of the old and children so as to avoid any dangers as shown in Figure 4-11.
Passengers having arrived at Beijing South Railway Station may directly transfer to the subway line 4, city bus, taxi or airport shuttle to leave the station as shown in Figure 5-1.
All the eight Exits are located on the underground floor. Among them, No.1, No.3, No.5, and No.7 Exit are on the east side, whereas No.2, No.4, No.6, and No.8 exits are on the west side; and, No.1 and No.2 exits are designed for Regular Train Yard, No.3 ,No.4, No.5 and No.6 are for eijing-Shanghai High Speed Train Yard, No.7 and No.8 are for Beijing-Tianjin Inter-city High-speed Train Yard.
No.1 and No.2 Exit are specific to No.1 to No. 5 Platforms. At present, only D322 train stops on the normal speed train yard.
No.3, No.4, No.5 and No.6 Exit are specific to No.6 to No. 17 Platforms. Generally, No. 3 and No.5 Exit on the east side are interflowing while No.4 and No.6 on the west side are interflowing (as shown in Figure 5-2). Passengers departing from Shanghai Hongqiao, Nanjing South, Hefei, Xuzhou East, Jinan West and Qingdao on Jinghu High Speed Railway are subject to getting out of the station through these Exits. Those who pick up people coming through trains running on Jinghu high speed train should wait here.
No.7 and No.8 exits are specific for No.18 to 24 Platforms. Passengers who take Beijing-Tianjin Inter-city High-speed train from Tianjin, Tanggu and Wuqing are subject to getting out of the station from these Exits as shown in Figure 5-3. Those who pick up people coming from Tianjin, Tanggu, Wuqing and etc please wait here.
Reminder 1. An electronic information screen is set up outside above each exit, providing information such as arriving train numbers, arrival time, platform and running status for those to pick up people from Beijing South Railway Station as shown in Figure 5-4.

Kindly Reminder: At rush hours in the morning and evening peak time when taxis are in shortage, you are advised to take the subway or the bus to leave to save time.
Option 1: Arrival Passengers can walk to the North Square on the ground floor to take the Airport Shuttle Bus there. (As shown in Figure 5-9). Airport bus leaves for Beijing Capital International Airport at every 30 minutes from 07:30 to 19:30 Monday to Sunday. Riding time is about 1 hour and ticket fare is CNY 20 Yuan.
Option 2: Arrival passengers can take Subway line 4 to Xuanwumen firstly and then transfer to Subway line 2 to Dongzhimen. From Dongzhimen, they can then take airport express Subway train to get to Terminal 2 of Beijing International Airport. Total duration is about 80 minutes.
Passengers can take Beijing Subway Line 4 to Majiabao firstly and leave the Subway station from the southeast C exit and walk to Majiabaoxiaoqu Bus Station to take No. 501bus to get to Beijing Nanyuan Airport. Total time duration is about 80 minutes.
Passengers can take Subway line 4 from Beijing South Station directly to Xuanwumen and then transfer to Subway Line 2 to get to Beijing Railway Station. The Subway Station's Southeast C exit has the shortest distance with Beijing Railway Station. Time duration is about half an hour and ticket price is CNY 2 Yuan.
Passengers can take Subway line 4 directly from Beijing South Station to China National Library station and then transfer to Line 9 to get to Beijing West Railway Station. Time duration is about 45 minutes and ticket fare is CNY 2 Yuan.
Passengers can take Subway Line 4 directly from Beijing South Railway Station to Pinganli and then transfer to No. 83 bus to get to Qijiahuozi Station. Once getting off there, passengers can walk 460cm to get to Deshengmen Long Distance Bus Station. Total time duration is about 1 hour.
No 458 bus running between Beijing South Railway Station and Lizeqiao Long Distance Bus Station directly. Riding time is about 50 minutes and ticket price is CNY 1 Yuan.
Two Parking Lots - the East Parking and the West Parking - are set up separately in the east and west side of the underground floor. They together can park 900 cars at one time. Each parking lot has two floors - P1 floor (M) and P2 floor (-1) - and 4 parking areas: Area A, B, C, and D are in the East Parking while Area E, F, G, and H are in the West Parking. Each parking lot has also two entrances and two exits leading to Xingfu Road, Silutong Road (junction), Kaiyang Road and Nansanhuan West Road (as shown in Figure 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8).

1. After driving your car into the Parking Lot, driver should slow down to avoid accident.
2. Please park in designated space instead of non-parking space so as to avoid obstructing the traffic.
3. Please keep in mind where your car is in case you will have to spend lots time looking for it. (As shown in Figure 6-11)
4. People walking in the green sidewalk of parking lot please pay close attention to the cars to avoid danger. (As shown in Figure 6)
5. Do not leave your valuables in the car.
