🕐 Day 1: Arriving in Xining and Visiting Dongguan Mosque
Guests arrive in Xining, the capital city of Qinghai province in the afternoon, meet with your local tour guide at either Xining Airport or Xining Train Station and then take the private car driven by an experienced driver to go to the hotel. After taking a short rest in the hotel, you will be invited by the tour guide to visit Xining Dongguan Grand Mosque. Dongguan Mosque is an Islamic mosque that has the ancient China architecture characteristics. What amazed you the most Inside it are the towers, the walls and the palace. Originally built in 1380 in Hongwu Reign of Ming Dynasty, Dongguan Mosque was rebuilt and extended in 1913, 1946 and 1979. It is now one of the largest four mosques in northwest China. The other three are Xian Great Mosque in Shaanxi province, Lanzhou Qiaomen Mosque in Gansu Province and Kashgar Id Kah Mosque in Xinjiang. Xining Dongguan Mosque has the country’s largest Muslim gathering. Every Friday, thousands of Muslims would gather here for prayer and the street toward the mosque would be overloaded and tourists are not advised to visit it during this time. Time to spend in Dongguan Mosque is about 2 hours. If time permits, we will also take you to visit some local market places so that you can know how local people in Xining live, their food, their dressing style etc.

🕑 Day 2: Qinghai Lake Loop Tour
Starting from the hotel at 8:30 AM, we drive 2.5 hours west to reach Qinghai Lake via Sun-moon mountain. Scenery along the way is stunning with snow mountains, high flying eagles, groups of wild hares, sheep and yaks under blue sky and white clouds continuously drawing your eyes. As one of the only three AAAAA level tourist attractions in Qinghai province, the 4,186-square-kilometer Qinghai Lake is known to be the largest inland lake as well as the largest saltwater lake of the country. It was formed on the sunk faults among Datong Mountain, Sun-moon Mountain and Qinghai South Mountain of the Qilian Mountain Range with the water surface at a high altitude of 3,260 meters. Historically, Qinghai Lake was called as the West Sea of China. Whenever you are coming here, you can feel that the lake is so blue, the air is so fresh and the sunshine is so warm which make you feel as if you are entering paradise. Best time to visit Qinghai Lake is in summer when the lake is surrounded by the sea of colorful flowers. From May to July, there are also many people flocking to Qinghai Lake for birding tour. Girls and women are advised to wear white or red dress if you happen to visit it in winter or early spring for better quality photos due to the dull background color in cold seasons. We will do a clockwise trip around the lake. After lunch, we will continue driving to the west side of the lake to be able to enjoy more natural sights, and then drive back to Xining in the afternoon from north bank of the lake .

🕒 Day 3: Ta’er Monastery and Tibetan Medicine Museum
Visiting Ta’er Temple or Kumbum Monastery, another AAAAA level tourist attractions in the morning. Locating in the downtown of the outskirt Huangzhong District of Xining city, Ta’er Temple was built in 1379 in Ming Dynasty. It was the birthplace of Je Tsongkapa, the founder of Gelupga Sect. Ta’er Temple is now a renowned Tibetan Buddhist meditation retreat center in northwest China and it is also one of the 6 largest monasteries of Gelupga Sect (Yellow Hat Sect) of Tibetan Buddhism. Murals ,embossed embroiders and Yak butter sculpture are 3 wonders of Ta’er Temple. Time to spend in Ta’er Temple is about 3 hours. We will drive back to Xining downtown to have lunch and noon break. The afternoon time will then be spent on visiting China (Qinghai) Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum. It is at this Museum that the world’s longest Tangkha is housed. Kept in Guinness World Records, this huge Thangka is 618 meters long and 2.5 meters wide which took 4 years to be finished by 400 skilled painters. Through this one of the finest painting in the world, visitors can learn almost every aspects of the Tibetan civilization in geography, culture, religion, history, art and etc. Time to spend in China Tibetan Medicine Culture Museum is about 2 hours.

🕓 Day 4: Return
Escort guests to Xining Airport or Xining Train Station at requested time and say farewell. The tour ends.
